The findings from a recently released survey indicate that women plan on spending thousands of dollars in 2026 on their travels – prioritizing active trips and experiences filled with hiking, trekking, cultural journeys, and exploring historical sites.

AdventureWomen, a travel company that organizes a wide variety of women-only adventure tours around the globe, conducted the survey. Respondents noted that in the upcoming year, they plan to spend anywhere from $5,000 to $12,000 on their annual travel. The ideal timeframe spent on a trip for those women is reportedly anywhere between eight and 14 days long.

A significant 40% are interested in taking hiking or trekking trips in 2026. The survey also noted that 30% of respondents want to go on cultural journeys or explorations of historical sites. Another 13% are prioritizing seeing wildlife and going on safaris. Most respondents reported that spending 2 to 3 hours daily on intense physical activity was ideal during their adventure travels.

Interestingly, although 45% of respondents said they’re in relationships, 54% reported that they primarily embark on solo travels. The survey reportedly included 500 participants, mostly aged 35 to 75.

What Else Is There To Know About Women’s 2026 Travel Priorities?

When asked about destinations for 2026, respondents pointed to Europe and Oceania. Nearly half (45%) said they are open to traveling somewhere they’ve never been before next year.

“Women today are redefining what adventure means,” AdventureWomen President Paige Davis said of the survey findings’ significance, according to Travel Pulse. “What’s most inspiring to us is seeing how many women are choosing to travel solo, not because they don’t have partners, but because they want to live their own travel dreams on their own terms.”
