There are boss moves and then there are big boss moves. At $160,000 per seat, a new three-week private charter experience hosted by Abercrombie & Kent falls in the latter category.
Cultural Treasures: Around the World by Private Jet 2023 is an around-the-world adventure exploring some of the world’s top destinations. Limited to 48 guests, the luxury charter is an immersive experience with an impressive itinerary. From the Land of the Rising Sun in Japan to Uzbekistan’s Silk Road Enclave, Cultural Treasures is kicking off the once-in-a-lifetime curated group trip in Seattle.
For the price tag of some people’s homes, the first-class travel offer includes luxury resort stays, meals, and private cultural activities in addition to living the private jet life for three weeks.
What’s Included For $160k?
Accompanied by an A&K tour director, everything from visas to guided tours is handled by the luxury tour operator. The experience even includes a doctor available for guests in the event of an emergency.
Luxury travelers willing and able to foot the hefty bill will travel to a total of eight countries.
Departing from Seattle on May 6, the 48 lucky (and privileged) guests fly directly to Osaka, Japan with a transfer to Kyoto. A guided Zen meditation, a Japanese tea ceremony, and a private dinner and geisha performance are just a few of the activities scheduled.
After four days in Japan, guests are whisked off to the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu. The two-day visit includes a presentation by a Mount Everest summiteer and an awe-inspiring helicopter flightseeing excursion to Everest.
Bhutan is the next stop on the tour, with visits to the National Museum of Bhutan and Buddha Point, home to the country’s largest statue. A private tshechu festival and an early morning hike to Taktsang Monastery (“Tiger’s Nest”) are the tips of the luxury iceberg during this leg of the trip.
From Bhutan, guests then travel to Agra, India where they will stay at The Oberoi Amarvilas, named by Travel + Leisure as the World’s Best hotel with views of the nearby Taj Mahal. Visits to the Taj Mahal and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Agra Fort and Itmad-Ud-Daulah (Baby Taj) are planned for this two-day stay.
Uzbekistan is the fifth county guests will visit, with accommodations at DiliMah Hotel. Exploring Samarkand’s Silk Road heritage, the grand mausoleums of Gur-Amir and Shakhi-Zinda, Bibi Khanym, and Siab Market are just a few of the activities to keep guests busy in this destination.
In Abu Dhabi, the sixth destination of the journey, sites like the Yas Marina Circuit, the Louvre Abu Dhabi, and Qasr Al Watan are included on the itinerary. The A&K experience also entails Design Your Day options available for a more personalized day of adventures on a few of the itinerary stops; the UAE visit being one of them. Abu Dhabi’s crown jewel, the magnificent Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, is another site guests will enjoy.
From Abu Dhabi guests fly to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, home of the popular ancient city of Petra. Exploration of Wadi Rum, known as the Valley of the Moon, and sand dune adventures are to be expected in Jordan.
The final destination on this whirlwind journey is Sicily, Italy. Driving a vintage Alfa Romeo or Fiat 500 through artisan villages, guests will experience a traditional opera dei pupi (marionette performance) and learn the history and realities of the Mafia in Sicily from a local historian. A private walking tour of Palermo and a gala farewell dinner reminiscent of a 19th-century Sicilian wedding cap off this ultra-luxe adventure.
After three weeks of jaunting around the world, literally, guests arrive back in the states landing in Boston.
