Born Outside Italy has a new travel experience in the works that’s perfect for sneakerheads and fashion lovers. The streetwear brand’s forthcoming “Sneaker Island” will combine the best of shopping and living. This unique stay promises to be both an exclusive residential development and a premier fashion retail destination.
The brand raised awareness about Sneaker Island during the launch party of its Sneaker 001 earlier this month. A rendering of the project shows a one-of-a-kind sneaker-shaped development. The vision included palm trees, pools, white architecture, and a two-way road wrapping around the island.
“Sneaker Island represents a bold departure from traditional real estate developments,” said Born Outside Italy Founder Alfredo Bandini, according to Breaking Travel News. “We believe that true luxury lies in the finest materials with impeccable construction. We aim to bring together the worlds of fashion and architecture in this groundbreaking project. We hope to create a unique space for individuals to fully live life on their terms and express themselves by indulging in their passion for sneakers.”
Where Is Sneaker Island?
Dubai is a city in the United Arab Emirates, a country in the Middle East. Sneaker Island will be off Dubai’s coast, surrounded by sand and teal-blue waters.
When Will the Fashion Destination Be a Visitable Reality?
Born Outside Italy aims to open the unique sneaker haven by early October 2024. It’s unclear whether the island will be open to the public or a private blend of residential and retail. That said, the destination is already encouraging interested parties to “book their place in sneaker history.”
Visual projections of the development include luxury living spaces overlooking stunning, beachy views and Dubai’s skyline. The rooms have open-concept planning, floor-to-ceiling windows, and indoor-to-outdoor integration.
Cleverly, Sneaker Island’s website promises “beautifully crafted uppers and comfy, layered inners.”
