A star in the new BET series Haus of Vicious, Gen-Z actress Lyric Anderson is no stranger to travel or the big screen. Executively produced by her mother Tami Roman, Anderson moves with tact and precision as she navigates the schemes and scandals of the fashion industry. However, her love for fashion, art, and architectural design has drawn her to destinations all over the world. 

A rising force of influence, Anderson is spilling the tea on the must-visit places Gen-Z travelers can’t stop talking about. Whether traveling internationally or domestically, these youthful travelers are taking adulthood by storm. TN sat down to chat with Anderson about the top destinations for Gen-Z travelers this fall.

Mallorca (Majorca), Spain

A Balearic Island off the coast of Spain, Mallorca or Majorca is a beautiful place with turquoise waters, stone-built villages, and citrus plantations. Located in the heart of the Mediterranean, Anderson says Mallorca is a hotspot for Gen-Z travelers due to its stunning beaches and amazing food. 

“The island has several stunning beaches for anyone who enjoys a good beach day,” she said. “There are also many aesthetically pleasing hotels to choose from, which is music to my ears since I love lounging by the pool.”

Mallorca is a charming, Spanish hub that’s great for girl’s trip and family vacations. No matter if you’re looking for nightlife or waterparks, Mallorca has a little bit of everything for every type of traveler.

Paris, France

Of course, Paris is a top vacation choice on many Gen-Z travelers’ bucket lists. The French capital is a favorite destination for tourists all over the world. There are plenty of things to see and do including the Eiffel Tower, Versailles, and Notre Dame. 

“It feels like love is in the air in Paris,” Anderson said. “It’s romantic and ethereal, and you can find tasty cafés and restaurants with amazing cuisine all over the city.”

If you find yourself in Paris, be sure to check out some of our favorite Black-owned restaurants throughout the city. If you want to bypass the super tourist attractions you can stroll through Place des Vosges, visit the Paris Museum of Modern Art, or smell the flowers at Luxembourg Garden. There are plenty of sights to see in Paris to keep you entertained.

London, U.K.

Fashion and art are a few of Gen-Z’s favorite things and Anderson says many of them are traveling to London for just that. She says the UK city has an array of fashion shops and boutiques where you’ll find unique, high-end pieces you won’t find in the US. 

“Fashion and art are two of the many aspects I love about London,” she said. “The shopping venues are luxurious, so if you’re interested in fashion, you can find high fashion pieces you may want to purchase.”

Anderson says another reason Gen-Z travelers are attracted to London is because of its diversity. The city has become a melting pot of folks from all over the world and it can be seen in the fabric of London’s culture. 

“I also love that there are people from various countries in the city, and the numerous cuisine options reflect the different cultures,” she said.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

When it comes to friend trips, Anderson says Gen-Z travelers are excited to explore Cabo San Lucas. Known for its beaches, watersports, and amazing excursions, Cabo is the place to be for Gen-Z this fall. Instead of visiting Cancun, Cabo is the preferred choice for this rising generation of travelers. 

“For people who want to lounge and have fun simultaneously, I think the city is a great combination of relaxation and high-energy fun,” she said.

The list of award-winning resorts, spas, hotels, and restaurants in Cabo is endless. With so many ways to relax in this Mexican paradise, it’s no wonder Gen-Z travelers are making plans to go there soon.

Santorini, Greece

Santorini is a beautiful city with crisp white walls, crystal blue waters, and a breathtaking Golden Hour. The Greecian city is a hot spot for international travelers and Gen-Z is taking notice of everything this destination has to offer. 

“Santorini is a stunning city,” Anderson said. “It’s great if you love nature and the outdoors. Yachting and boat days are popular, and the sunsets are absolutely beautiful.”

A multicolored destination with panoramic views of the sea, Santorini has amazing views and beaches. A historic place with a rich, ancient culture, Santorini is making its way to the top of many Gen-Z travelers’ lists this fall.

Barcelona, Spain

Gen-Z travelers are coming from around the world to experience Barcelona’s food, culture, and shopping. For Anderson, it’s the architecture that draws her to the Spanish city. A historic place built on art and classic architectural design, Barcelona is a favorite vacation destination for Gen-Z travelers this fall.

“I love the architecture in Barcelona,” she said. “There are so many venues with captivating structures to view in person. The layout of the city is unique, with numerous interesting sites to take in.”

Barcelona is split up into many different districts so there’s plenty to see in the city. Some of the most popular neighborhoods to visit are Ciutat Vella, Gracia, and Sants-Montjuic.

Toronto, Canada

Drake has done a wonderful job of letting everyone know how it goes down in the 6 and Gen-Z travelers are taking heed. Anderson says many of her friends are traveling to Toronto this fall to enjoy the Canadian cultural hub firsthand. 

“Toronto is a city full of culture,” she said. “It’s fast-paced and cosmopolitan, with many high-rise buildings and skyscrapers. There are so many options for interesting things to do, whether you are looking to shop, eat, or experience the nightlife scene.”

Toronto is known for its diversity, a characteristic that attracts Gen-Z travelers to many destinations. The city has great food, entertainment, and sporting events to indulge in. Toronto is a great international destination for Gen-Z travelers looking to travel abroad without crossing the water.

Rome, Italy

Another destination full of history and culture, Gen-Z travelers are putting on their archeological hats and heading to Rome. Like Barcelona, Rome is home to some of the world’s most ancient and beautiful architecture. The country’s capital, the city is also a hotspot for travelers looking to try the best in Italian cuisine. 

“The food is also amazing, and if you’re a pasta lover, there are many options to choose from,” Anderson said. “For dessert, Rome also has delicious gelato.”

If you’re a history lover, Rome has much in store for you to see. From the Colosseum, the Pantheon, and the Roman Forum. You can also visit the Vatican where the Pope lives for another level of cultural and historical immersion in Rome.

Malibu, California

An LA native and California girl at heart, Anderson says Malibu continues to be a favorite travel destination for Gen-Z. For those living in the Golden State, Anderson says Malibu is a great destination for a short staycation not far from home. Only an hour from LA, Malibu is the perfect mini getaway Gen-Z travelers need. 

“For anyone who enjoys lunch overlooking the water, the occasional cool breeze, and the essence of nature, Malibu is definitely a vibe,” she said.

Malibu is known for its coastal cliffs and dynamic views of the water. So if you need some time to commune with nature, this destination is an excellent choice. There are also of private beaches for travelers to get solo time along the shore away from large crowds.

Austin, Texas

A super fun destination with some of the best food in the country, Austin, TX is another place Gen-Z travelers have considered traveling to this fall. Everyone seems to love Austin. The city hosts a plethora of festivals throughout the year including SXSW and its rich culture attracts tourists from all over. 

“I’m a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, so I had the pleasure of experiencing Austin, Texas for a few years,” Anderson said. “It’s a city with a rich food and music culture.” 

Austin nightlife is popping and you’ll find a bustling club blasting live music around every corner. Downtown Austin is a vibe all on its own and the numerous restaurants and food trucks will keep you full and happy your entire trip.
