Located in the Palermo neighborhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina, Fogón Asado has been recognized this year as the “World’s Top Fine Dining Restaurant,” according to Tripadvisor.
In September, Fogón Asado topped the “Fine Dining – World” category of Tripadvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best Restaurants list. The travel bookings and reviews platform noted that the award is based on establishments that “receive a high volume of above-and-beyond reviews and opinions” from its community. Tripadvisor also noted that those highlighted in the fine dining category are “worth getting on the waitlist for.”
Fogón Asado boasts a 4.9 average rating and over 3,200 reviews on Tripadvisor at the time of this report. The fine dining establishment, marked with four dollar signs, has garnered a 4.8 average review for its value. Moreover, its food and atmosphere each hold a 4.9, while its service — praised in great detail — has a perfect 5.0.
What Else Should Foodies Know About Fogón Asado?
The experience at Fogón Asado is described as a culinary celebration of Argentine cuisine and the country‘s grill mastery. In an intimate space, guests gather around a fiery grill where tasting menus are prepared and served. The offerings include the country’s best grass-fed beef, wines, and Provoleta cheese. In addition to tasting, diners are educated about Argentina‘s “asado” (or barbecue) culture and history, as well as the ingredients in each dish and the wood used for cooking.
Fogón Asado is reservation-only, so foodies should reserve their dining experience in advance of their visit. The steakhouse accommodates vegetarians, vegans, pescatarians, and the gluten-free, and these diets can be specified when booking. The Michelin-recognized establishment has two locations – Palermo Viejo and Palermo Soho. Both are perfect for a special, unforgettable dining experience. Diners usually stay for around three hours, and they pay for their meal in advance of the sit-down. The dress code is “smart casual.”
“Fogón Asado explores the rich tradition of asado steak with a twist. From provoleta to ribeye and tira de asado, each dish is cooked right in front of guests. The eight-course tasting menu uses seasonal ingredients, and goes well beyond regular steakhouse fare. To enhance the flavors, the restaurant offers a selection of wines from Argentina that pair perfectly with the dishes,” notes Tripadvisor.
