If you are looking for a Caribbean getaway that isn’t already in everyone’s travel plans, Bequia is a little-known paradise in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. At seven-square miles, Bequia is the second-largest island in the Grenadines with only six thousand residents, adding to its charm and serenity.
The island is known for its seafaring heritage with nearly every Bequia family having some connection to the sea either past or present, and today’s fishermen, sailors, and boat-builders are quietly proud to share their marine traditions with newcomers to the island.

Bequia proudly boasts some of the most stunning beaches in the Caribbean where ten people make a crowd, and its bustling, but small, little town has a variety of shops and restaurants ready to serve you without a wait. You will also find a variety of local arts and crafts in the boutiques of Port Elizabeth and at artists’ studios around the island.
Most people that visit the island, take time to explore outside of the beaches and small main town – either by taking an Island Tour in one of Bequia’s famous open-backed taxis or by renting a car and exploring for themselves. You can take a guided tour through the hillsides of wild cinnamon and orchards producing oranges, grapefruit, bananas, breadfruit, guava, Bequia plums, sour cherries, mangoes and a variety of exotic crops, or take an early morning solo hike when the weather is ideal.
